US Presidential Election 2024 Vote Shift Analysis

In every state where the majority of votes have been tallied, former President Donald Trump has outperformed his 2020 election results.

In the heated 2020 election, President Joe Biden clinched the presidency by flipping significant states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin to the Democratic side.

Fast forward four years, and Trump is making headlines again, declaring victory in key battlegrounds, notably Pennsylvania and Georgia.

Pennsylvania, once a crucial part of the Democratic “blue wall” alongside Michigan and Wisconsin, saw Trump win it in 2016 before it flipped back to Democrats in 2020. This time around, Trump has successfully regained Pennsylvania.

Additionally, Trump has also secured Georgia, a state that leaned Democratic during the last election. He’s managed to retain the tightly contested state of North Carolina as well.

It’s noteworthy that in every state with majority votes counted, Trump has improved upon his previous performance from four years ago.

A fascinating trend has also emerged regarding voter demographics. Among Black and Latino voters, there appears to be a decrease in support for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris compared to Biden’s backing in 2020.

Approximately 80% of Black voters cast their ballots for Harris, a dip from the 90% who supported Biden. Furthermore, while over half of Hispanic voters favored Harris, this is a slight decline from the around 60% who backed Biden in the previous election. Interestingly, Trump’s support among these demographic groups seems to have increased as well.
