A network of technology transfer centers

With a decree signed today by the Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti, the first 33.5 million euros were activated for the investments envisaged by the PNRR. They are part of the 350 million euro package, useful for strengthening existing Competence Centers and for the creation of others centers for technology transfer42 in total.

Centers for technology transfer: the national network

The stated goal is to achieve a national network, intended for integration at European level, through which to develop advanced production processes and models for industrial supply chains. The focus will be on the delivery of innovative services and on the dissemination of skills to at least 4,500 small and medium-sized enterprises. These the parole of the minister.

We focus on investments in manufacturing 4.0 to accompany the digital transition of production chains, especially in strategic sectors for the country’s economy. With this objective we have decided to invest in a national network of technology transfer poles, in which the human factor plays a decisive role for the future of the manufacturing sector, strengthening the ability to meet between the world of research and companies in the application of cutting-edge technologies.

As stated in the press release, the implementation of the investment follows two different business lines. The first concerns the refinancing of Competence Center already active (the call will come shortly). The second, on the other hand, relates to the co-financing of the European network of European Digital Innovation Hubs.

The clusters will play a role of fundamental importance, because they will make it possible to systematize the excellences and skills present in our country. By applying cutting-edge technologies and tools, they will increase the competitiveness of our production system at an international level.

In addition, a control room at the ministry, to ensure effective coordination. It will perform the functions of addressing, impulse and monitoring. Today’s provision was sent to the Court of Auditors. It will come into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.
