On the occasion of special events, such as Prime DayBlack Friday and Cyber Monday, as well as during the holiday season, Amazon temporarily increases the number of employees. The Seattle-based company today announced the creation of 3,000 permanent jobs in Italy by the end of 2022, bringing the total number to 17,000.
Amazon: new hires in Italy
At the beginning of the year, Amazon received the award Top Employer Italia 2022 (second in a row). The company offers different types of jobs for people of all backgrounds, education, experience levels and career aspirations. With the Italy Plan, 3,000 permanent jobs will be created in various Italian offices. Currently the starting salary is 1,680 euros per month8% more than the standard one set by the national contract for the transport and logistics sector.
Lorenzo Barbohead of Amazon Italia Logistica, explains that with the opening of the new distribution center in Ardea, 200 jobs will be created within three years, while with the next opening of the distribution center in San Salvo, 1,000 people will be hired for an indefinite period.
Amazon supports over 18,000 SMEs who sell the products on the e-commerce platform. Specific roles are therefore available, such as Head of Amazon Business – Seller Services, Senior Program Manager Seller Experience and 3P Operations Manager. The company is also looking for workers who are involved in software development, marketing, finance or research into the technologies of the future.
In the Italian offices there are workers of over 100 different nationalities. More than 1,200 people are under the age of 24, while the average age is 34. 8% of employees are over 50 and the oldest employee is 64. New job opportunities have been posted on the dedicated site.
