The video game company Ubisoft has confirmed the development of “Assassin’s Creed Infinity”. In the future, the game should take place in a constantly evolving world.

Games-as-a-Service, GAAS for short, is to be understood in a similar way to Software-as-a-Service: a revenue model in which new content is constantly added to an existing video game. This increases the replay value and long-term motivation among users. This is exactly the path the French game developer Ubisoft wants to take with “Assassin’s Creed Infinity”.

When Ubisoft confirmed that the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series would be “bigger” than its predecessor, fans were already discussing that the latest project could become the GAAS. Now this assumption has been confirmed.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity is set to be a huge online platform with an evolving world and live elements. The reports Gamerant. Assasin’s Creed would take a similar path as it did before GTA Online or Fortnite did. The game should be filled with new content and settings for months and years after its initial release and the worlds should be constantly expanded. It is not known which content from the well-known Assassin’s Creed games will also be available in the extensive online mode. However, it is suspected that in the end, similar to Forinte, it will be a kind of battle royale platform.

For the extensive project, Ubisoft has even merged its Canadian studios in Montreal and Quebec so that both can work together on “Assassin’s Creed Infinity”. When exactly the project will be published is still in the stars. How “Assassin’s Creed Infinity” will be structured in the end, how presumed microtransactions are built in and the franchise identity is to be preserved, will show in the next few months or years. It is definitely an exciting step to new shores.
