“Black Adam” had its first and for a long time last appearance in the first “Marvel Family” issue in 1945. It was only 32 years later that “Black Adam” was revived as a villain after DC Comics bought the licensing rights from Marvel in 1977.

Before Billy Batson became the new champion of the mystical wizard “Shazam” and received his superpowers, “Black Adam” was the chosen one. The man from ancient Egypt, whose alter ego goes by the name of Teth-Adam, was corrupted by the powers of the magician and kills the ruling Pharaoh to take his place, whereupon Shazam tried everything in his power to stop Adam.

Johnson will play the antihero and posted a first picture of the set on Instagram. He wrote: “This picture of ‘Black Adam’ from behind gives you a tangible idea of how big our film is going to be. You also see a bit of the complex and beautifully detailed structure of Black Adam’s suit (none of the typical DC or Marvel suits with pads). And at the end you get an impression of the enormous and appropriate destruction. As we all know, superheroes have a sense of justice and they don’t kill bad guys. But Black Adam does. The balance of power in the DC Universe will change. Anti-hero. Man in black. Protector of his people. “

In addition to Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, the superheroes Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) are confirmed. One can assume that these four heroes come together in the film to form the Justice Society of America, a hero troop in the comic universe, similar to the “Justice League”. Directed by the action-savvy filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra.

“Shazam!” is currently available at Netflix.
