Cyberpunk 2077’s image could suffer further damage if the manufacturer breaks promises again. What about CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk and the mood of the players? We give an overview.
The time after the hopeful release about ten months ago was tough for the role-playing game “Cyberpunk 2077” and its parents from CD Projekt Red (CDPR). The Polish studio is now working its way back bit by bit, but the danger is not over. It has announced two more free DLC (downloadable content), and the ports for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S are still a long time coming. Gamers don’t think well.
After the catastrophic start in December 2020, CDPR rushed to limit the damage with announcements. Sony got the title because of poor quality exiled, after He was allowed to upgrade again in the online store – but with a warning. First, fast hotfixes and less fast patches should get the game back on the road to some extent. The next step was to try to calm the scene down by announcing a content offensive in the form of free add-ons. To this day, the studio did not reveal what specific content the DLC would have. Players wondered whether it would only deliver the functions that could no longer be packed into the title in a hurry, or whether there would really be new storylines and the like. Does the story continue or does CDPR only supply accessories such as outfits, weapons, a few new locations, a few scenes? That was around the turn of the year 2020/2021.
It can be heard that players are happy with the update frequency. Both the Hotfixes as well as the patches came out on time. While the last version number is given as 2.1 in the roadmap, came on 14. September Patch 3.1.1. out. Nevertheless, there are voices that the game is still catching up still full of errors. One target group is really dissatisfied: the Playstation gamers. PS5 owners in particular are still waiting for the last-gen update. It should come out before the end of the year. But even from the ranks of the PS4 players, it is said that their console version is not yet error-free.
“Cyberpunk 2077” and its history full of ups and downs are celebrating their one year old in two months and the players have not yet received any information about the announced download extensions. Observers challenge the expectations placed in the game not to disappoint againthat CD Projekt Red has to deliver. Some players also scratch their feet. They think they have endured enough. Others prefer to wait a little longer instead of frustrating themselves one more time with unfinished software. The cyberpunk moderators also hit this notch: “We’re working on it. Be patient We’ll give it to you when it’s really done. “
