Prepaid tariffs are a good alternative for all those who do not want to be tied to long contract terms and simply want to keep an overview of costs. Because with the prepaid contract, you can only use as much as you have previously loaded onto the card.
However, it is not that easy to find the right tariff, especially since the offer is huge. We have 22 Prepaid provider examined more closely for you. In addition to discounters such as Lidl, Aldi and Penny, we also checked the offers from O2, Telekom, Vodafone and Co.
The result: The discounter offers rank well ahead of the well-known mobile phone brands. In addition to costs as the most important criterion, the features of the tariffs, the network quality of the providers and the service are also included in the overall rating.
Prepaid tariffs in comparison: Lidl, Aldi and Co. at the top
With an overall rating of “very good” (grade 1.3) secures itself Lidl Connect with the Smart S Tariff first place. Here you pay around 8 euros per month for 3 GB including SMS and telephony flat rate. The surfing speed of 25 Mbit / s in the download is not the fastest and far from top speeds. However, simple applications such as WhatsApp, Instagram and Co. can usually be operated without any problems.
A discounter giant also follows in second place: Aldi Talk with its Package S with the rating “very good” (grade 1.4) is just behind Lidl. Here, too, you pay for 3 GByte just under 8 euros. However, you surf with Aldi in the O2 network, with Lidl in the Vodafone network.
Overall, the discounter and supermarket offers do much better than the O2, Vodafone and Telekom own tariffs. One retailer in particular falls out of line here: Edeka Smart occupies last place in the ranking with the Kombi L. Above all, the high costs are decisive for the poor placement. The supermarket tariff in the sub-category costs scores 4.7.
