Italians at the International Computer Olympics

The latest edition of the International Computer Olympics, the thirty-third, was staged exclusively online (from 19 to 25 June) for obvious reasons, but with the national teams meeting in the same place as requested by the Committee: ours was hosted by the Swiss delegation. By the way, how did theItaly? Very good, with noteworthy placings.

International Olympics of Informatics and EGOI

The competition involves secondary school students from all over the world. They thought about holding up the flag Davide Bartoli of the IIS Alberghetti di Imola, Tommaso Dossi of the LS Volta of Milan, Filippo Casarin of the LS Da Vinci of Treviso e Valerio Stancanelli of the LS Galilei of Catania. Four medals on their chest: two silvers for Dossi and Casarin, as many bronzes for Bartoli and Stancanelli.

For the first time, Italy also participated in an international IT competition entirely for women, held from 13 to 19 June: the first edition of EGOI (European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics). 157 girls competing, coming from 43 countries of the world including 30 Europeans.

The Italians, gathered at the AICA headquarters in Milan, came out with their heads held high. They took part in the competition Carmen Casulli of the LS G. Galilei of Trento, Rossella Giansante of ITT G. Ferraris of Molfetta e Laura Acinapura of the LS E. Torricelli of Bolzano. The first two were awarded a bronze medal.
