opt-in mode for service activation

For a few days theapp IO is the center of attention because many users await the refund of the Cashback. The Privacy Guarantor was waiting for the update that includes the two Announcements promises from PagoPA. This actually happened with versions for Android and 1.29.0 for iOS.

App IO: opt-in for services and sending emails

After a brief “institutional clash”, the Privacy Guarantor authorized PagoPA to use theapp IO to allow users to retrieve the COVID-19 green certificate, also known as Green Pass. When the certificate is available, a message is sent in push mode, opening which will download the famous QR code from the DGC Platform.

In the release notes it is written only “The latest version fixes various technical issues and improves app performance“. In reality, PagoPA has introduced two important innovations, respecting the deadline of 9 July. By default, all available services were active so far, as well as forwarding of messages via email (opt-out mode). The Privacy Guarantor had instead asked for the introduction of a opt-in mode.

After installing the update, a screen will be shown on first launch warning the user of the possibility of activate individual services and the deactivation of the forwarding of messages via email. The next screen shows the two options: quick setup (all active services) e manual configuration (choice of individual services). By choosing the latter, a warning appears to clarify that no messages will arrive from future services.

However, you can reset the quick configuration and forwarding of email messages in the Preferences (Profile tab at the bottom right).

IMPORTANT: the choice of manual configuration involves the deactivation of the Cashback service, then you must manually reactivate it to receive the refund message.
