Practical for Google Maps: German users can also look forward to this feature

Finding a free e-scooter to drive through the city is now much easier. The rental scooter provider Tier and Google Maps have now presented a corresponding solution. Searchers can now find the provider’s e-scooters directly via Google Maps, along with information such as price information and the estimated time of arrival at the scooter.

In Google Maps under the tab for cycle routes there is now the button “TIER” in the supported cities. The click on the button shows the nearest available e-scooter, as well as the running route and the charging status of the scooter. In order to start the journey, users are then redirected to the provider’s rental app.

The service is initially available in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Vienna, Zurich, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki. More cities are to follow in the course of the year, it is said.

“Through our collaboration with Google, we create visibility for TIER scooters in Google Maps and help ensure that drivers have access to the means of transport that best suits their daily mobility needs,” says Tinia Mühlfenzl, Director of Market Development at TIER.

According to its own information, the company is currently Europe’s leading shared micro-mobility provider in Europe. In addition to e-scooters, Tier currently also offers e-bikes for short-term rental in Great Britain, France, Norway and Switzerland.
