Needless to go around it, the goal of Realme GT it was a sensation, attracting the attention and interest of consumers, and the company was perfectly successful. The formula used is not new, other Chinese companies in the first steps have done similarly, launch on the market excellent products at very competitive costs. With this phone, however, the equation is more rewarding because the substance is really a lot while the expense appears to be more than contained. We are in fact talking about a smartphone with Snapdragon 888 for 399 euros, definitely a best buy. Let’s say immediately that, on the market there are comparable or superior products, especially in reference to the photographic sector, but Realme GT offers an unbeatable price / performance balance point. With this tag currently is unrivaled.

Every aspect has been taken care of to allow the phone to play a fierce game with competing products starting with the elegant even if rather conventional design (the exception is the very nice yellow leather version). Well assembled, it also has a fairly low weight and thickness which make it easy to handle with one hand. Precisely on the scale it measures 186 grams, with an 8.4 mm profile.

The merit of compactness it is also linked to the fact that the realme GT mounts an Amoled display of “only” 6.43 inches with FHD + resolution. Not a giant screen but balanced to ensure full usability of all applications, including video games. There is even the refresh rate a 120 Hz, even in automatic mode which helps battery autonomy.

From a performance point of view, the business card of the latest Qualcomm processor leaves little doubt about the speed and fluidity of this phone. The Snapdragon 888, accompanied by 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 ram, always behaves well and there is no hesitation even putting the smartphone under stress. The heat is also quite low thanks to the steel cooling system. Two cuts in storage space, 128 and 256 GB, unfortunately not expandable.

The imaging department is able to meet the needs of a demanding public but not those of those who want to have a real camera phone in hand. Sony’s main sensor of 64 megapixel f / 1.8 it is flanked by an 8MP f / 2.3 wide-angle lens and a 2MP f / 2.4 macro. These are the specifications of a mid-range but the intervention of artificial intelligence, the HDR and the shutter speed they raise what is needed the product. There is a lack of higher zoom even though 2X is promoted and 4K videos stop at 60 fps, but pushing harder still makes little sense. The 16 megapixel front camera can be improved even if it does its job using the wide-angle lens.

On the other hand, the user experience is good customization almost completely similar to Oppo’s ColorOS even if officially it is called realme UI 2.0. The options are many and those who love to tinker will be able to calibrate this phone in his image and likeness. The audio is also good, thanks to one speaker stereo Dolby Atmos, Hi-res support and a low-latency, low-interference audio jack.

The battery performance is also in line with the general philosophy of this realme GT, a reliable 4500 mAh that leads to the end of the day without too many problems, even if the Snapdragon 888 processor is sometimes energy-hungry. In case of need you can set up the intelligent charging function and rely on the system fast charging from 65W with charger in pack. No wireless charging.

In conclusion we can say that the realme GT is a real “best buy” especially for those who want a good, reliable phone, to be used at their best every day without necessarily expecting all the top options. A smartphone of substance which has very few defects considering the selling price.

During Prime Day Amazon will be marketing to 399 euro for the 8/128 GB version, and 499 euro for the 12/256 GB version. After the promotion, the list prices will be 449 and 599 euros.
