The black dots on the windshield: that’s what they’re really there for



The small black dots look like they have emerged from a black band. The black ribbon itself has a specific purpose: it is baked-in ceramic paint. This ceramic paint blocks out ultraviolet radiation.

This protects the seals and prevents them from becoming porous. The black tape also fulfills an optical purpose: the adhesive on the windshield cannot be seen.

But what are the little black dots that seem to rise from the ribbon for?
