The bond between Ciri and Geralt is already evident in the first scene of the new trailer, because the witcher not only watches over the princess, but is also responsible for her life via the “law of surprise”. The princess is haunted again and again by nightmares, but also real dangers lurk for the friends on the way to Kaer Morhen. Geralt makes it clear to his protégé that she always has to listen to his instructions when they have to fight dangerous monsters.

At the same time, Ciri transforms from an inexperienced nobleman into a dangerous warrior in the fortress. Geralt and the other sorcerers train them in sword fighting and other defense techniques so that they can defend themselves outside the castle walls.

One person only makes a very brief appearance in the first trailer: Sorceress Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). After the Battle of Sodden, she appears injured and is slow to get back on her feet. Larkspur cuts a better figure in a new outfit and with new songs that are likely to hit. With a long time to go until December, Netflix is releasing “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf”, an anime film about Geralt’s mentor Vesemir, on August 23rd.
