In Israel there is an increase in Covid-19 cases due largely to the Delta variant, but it is not a point in favor of the No Vax. Here because
These days too Israel is seeing a increase of the cases of Covid-19, despite the massive and rapid vaccination campaign (about 85% of the adult population was vaccinated with mRna products, 57% of the total). It is estimated that this new epidemic is largely due to the arrival of the Delta variant of coronavirus, which would be responsible for at least half of the cases between vaccinated and not. The data is being updated and considering the times any conclusion would be early. Precisely for this reason, the experts point out, it does not make sense use this little evidence to discredit i vaccines, which instead, at the end of the cycle, seem to continue to provide one good protection against variants, including Delta.
The situation in Israel
They would be more than 700 the new cases of Covid-19 in Israel, so much so that according to the project Our World in Data of the University of Oxford, the weekly average would have risen from a few dozen cases to a hundred. Serious cases, however, would be a very small number.
According to statements released by epidemiologist Ran Balicer, head of the Israeli health directorate general, the 50% of new infections would concern i minors, many of whom have not yet been vaccinated (Israel has approved the anti-Covid vaccination also for 12-15 year olds recently), while the other 50% among adults the goal would occur between vaccinated people.
Figures that do not worry for the moment and remain in the expected range, as Enrico Bucci explains on The paper. The numbers reflect the composition of the real population, which as far as adults are concerned is largely made up (ratio of almost 6 to 1) by vaccinated people.
The data is still few, too much recent and being updated in order to draw conclusions, although someone tries to pull them in support of their theses.
Vaccines not working against the Delta variant?
Currently, when placed in their context, neither the Israeli nor the British numbers suggest the failure of the vaccines against the Delta variant. They have already been conducted Education just to evaluate theefficiency, and the first data are reassuring with the vaccine Pfizer which in a complete cycle covers approximately80% and the vaccine AstraZeneca full cycle for about 60%. It is also probable that even in the case of infection, the protection conferred by the vaccine prevents severe forms. The checks, of course, will continue.
Is the Delta variant more dangerous?
It is still to be understood. At the moment the rate of hospitalization in Israel has not increased, but we know that the admissions are starting to see each other a little later with respect to the identification of new cases. However the death rate in the United Kingdom, where the Delta variant is now the dominant one and the percentage of the population with a complete vaccination course is lower than that of Israel, does not cause concern.
