Windows 11 SE, Surface version cheap?

Microsoft had planned the launch of Windows 10X to hamper Chrome OS, but the operating system was wiped (some elements are now present in Windows 11). According to Windows Central sources, the Redmond company is expected to announce a Surface Laptop low-end with Windows 11 SE.

Cheap Windows 11 SE for Surface?

I Chromebook have become very popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, as they offer everything you need to take lessons from a distance. Microsoft wants to try to “steal” some users from Google, creating a Surface Laptop (codenamed Tenjin) with 11.6 inch screen to be offered on the Education market.

According to Windows Central sources, the display will have a resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels. The Intel Celeron N4120 processor should fit inside the plastic frame, up to 8 GB of RAM, two USB ports (one Type-A and one Type-C), the 3.5mm audio jack and traditional connectivity options (WiFi and Bluetooth).

The installed operating system should be Windows 11 SE. The suffix, used in the past for Windows 98 SE, could mean Student Edition o School Edition. However, it is unclear which features will be removed from the standard edition. The minimum hardware requirements will obviously change. In theory it could be installed on older PCs, but it will almost certainly only be provided to OEMs.

The price should be similar or lower than that of the Surface Laptop Go (visible in the image at the beginning of the article), then in lots of 549.99 dollars (649.00 euros in Italy).
