Xtube, the historic porn site will go offline on September 5th

The online porn industry, or rather, one of its main protagonists, is about to lose another piece: Xtube will close its doors on September 5th, forever. Uploads have already been stopped. The site, active since 2006, is controlled by the giant MindGeek as well as (among others) Pornhub, RedTube and YouPorn. The reasons for the decision have not been disclosed, but it is not difficult to imagine them.

Porn: MindGeek shuts down Xtube

In all likelihood, the group is aware of the presence on the portal of potentially illegal content and, in order not to stumble into lawsuits that would lead it to court, has opted to shut down. Those engaged in the crusade against theXXX entertainment.

Recall that only a few months ago PornHub, another site in the MindGeek galaxy, was forced to delete more than half of your catalog, introducing a policy that allows the uploading of new videos only to verified users. The intent is to prevent videos depicting abuse or non-adult subjects from being shared on the servers. We close by quoting an article published on these pages in November 2007, entitled “Old porn succumbs to 2.0 porn”, which calls into question Xtube, which was on the rise at the time.

… the extraordinary numbers that the new porn sites are collecting, which are not those attributable to the large companies in the sector, in particular those that have taken the leap of the phenomenon of web 2.0 and have made a soup of exhibitionism, community and constant demand. They are the various YouPorn, Porntube and Xtube, sites that mix amateur content, produced by users, with semi-professional and even professional content. And even for the latter, in many cases, it is content that does not come from the big names in the sector, but from new online production centers, small dedicated companies or even groups of friends from the world of video and cinema that do not disdain to cultivate your own passion for hard.
