Sylvester Stallone calls Trump second George Washington

Sylvester Stallone recently referred to President-elect Donald Trump as the “second George Washington” during his introduction at a gala event.

In a remarkable moment, Stallone compared the former president to his iconic character, Rocky Balboa, after Trump’s decisive election win.

Trump achieved a significant victory over Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris, marking the first time a Republican since George W. Bush has won the popular vote.

During his speech at the America First Policy Institute Gala, held at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, Stallone expressed his admiration for Trump. “We’re in the presence of a truly mythical character,” Stallone remarked. “I have a deep appreciation for mythology. This individual is one of a kind; nobody else could have accomplished what he did, and I find that awe-inspiring.”

Stallone suggested that Trump’s contributions to the country place him alongside George Washington, a figure who fundamentally reshaped the nation. He stated, “When George Washington took a stand for his country, he had no way of knowing the monumental impact he would have. Without him, the world would look vastly different. And you know what? We now have the second George Washington.”

Although Stallone has historically supported Republican politicians, he has also made donations to Democrats, including Joe Biden. Still, his public commentary during the 2016 and 2020 election cycles was limited. Back in 2016, he expressed his support for Trump, saying, “I love Donald Trump,” while also noting the complexities of translating larger-than-life figures into effective leadership.

Stallone is among a select group of entertainment celebrities who have shown support for Trump, joining names like Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Zachary Levi, Caitlyn Jenner, and Mel Gibson.
